Decent food, misleading prices

Not even close to a good meal. Toast wasn't even toasted just warm bread,got wrong toast, my eggs weren't even the kind I ordered. Other people got their order before us. Waitress didnt even care

Bring cash, no credit cards, debit cards, or WiFi. I know there are signs everywhere saying cash only, but still, it’s 2019. Friendly wait staff and the portion size is huge. Burger was really good. People seem to be extra friendly here- they even tell the cook “thanks- tasted great” through his little order-up door. They close at 2 (PM !) so no supper. Breakfast n lunch only, but there are lots of selections.

How do you rate places like this?!? From a purely concrete and objective standpoint. It's not much. But there is something magical about this place. The locals, the relationships, the mismatched downhome decor, the staff (owner and family???) All I can say it that it works well. I would go back. You should try it too!! It was worth the drive.

Looking for a nice place for breakfast rather than a fast food joint.. AJ's is the place to go. Great food , great service,and very fair pricing. We loved it there and will be going back...

Love AJ's for breakfast! I typically order the Denver Omlette, and it's always yummy! Their pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and corned beef hash with eggs are also favorites that are great! Make sure you have cash, or you'll have to use the in-house ATM. AJ's doesn't take debit or credit cards.

Your classic small hometown diner but without the greasy spoon. Many great things including omelettes, country fried steak, burgers at lunch and an amazing deep-fried or grilled classic fish fry on Friday nights. Sit down with your neighbors at the big table, choose a smaller private table or belly up to the old time counter. The staff and family are super friendly. Worth a drive to the village for a meal. (Only open Friday evening's otherwise closed after 2PM)

One of the best veggie omelets I have ever had! Husband loves the biscuits and gravy.

I wanna know why they are closed on weekends now? That was the only time I could go there because of work during the week :(

If you are passing through Baldwin looking for a great local breakfast spot I would recommend it. Portion sizes are more than generous, staff is attentive, and you can tell there are lots of regulars.

Jeremy makes great crisp bacon not burnt. Prices are great. Val provides fast friendly service. The food and variety is good. Fish fry is great as well. Save room for pie.

This place sucks! The staff is LAZY!! We came in 15 minutes prior to closing to get a quick bite to eat, for take out. The staff had already turned the grill off and refused us service because they had already began closing everything before it was even the scheduled closing time. Maybe you guys should hire some staff that is willing to work their whole shift...not staff that is over eager to leave. This establishment will NEVER be getting my money. EVER!!!

Lovely little place! Fast service good portions and prices. Only drawback is that they only take cash, but they have an atm in house, so it isn't a huge inconvenience.I had the Northside omelet (sausage) and it was huge and chocked full of meat and veggies. They cooked the veggies seperately before folding them in the inside of the omelet pocket so everything was well cooked and delicious.Perfect pit stop place while on the road👍

This place is awesome. We stopped for breakfast & after that we ran down the road 2 unload at Smith Auction. After unloading we had 2 stop again on the way home 2 have lunch. I give them 4.9 stars out of 5 & I'll make it 5 stars if the waitress ever ends up on the menu. Yes people, she is hot. Pretty down 2 earth & nice 2.

My family has been going here for years, but super disappointed this morning. My other half and I went for breakfast and both of us ordered separate meals (country fried steak, #9 with an extra egg and toast for a total of 20.35 before tax and the plate). I asked for an extra plate to move my steak and toast onto. We were charged a buck for that extra plate. Asked the server to remove the charge since we had not shared/split a meal and was told she could not do that. Seriously is a great way to lose once loyal customers over ridiculous charges. If both customers have ordered meals and the charge for an extra plate is to compensate for people who split a meal, as one would logically assume, why nickel and dime people to that extent?Thank you for the great response. We love your food and the portions are terrific! We love to come there and will continue to do so.

OMG GO HERE!!! I love this place, the food, staff, environment ... they don't make 'em like this anymore!

Went there for lunch today. I was satisfied with the food and the service was good but not great. Not accepting cards is a bit inconvenient but it was fine I just had to run to Kwik Trip to get cash. The portions on the food were good until I got my biscuits and gravy order to go. It costs $7 for 2 tiny biscuits and hardly any gravy. Very disappointing and I will never get them again. If you eat here just stay away from the biscuits and gravy.

If you ever find yourself in Baldwin looking for a place to eat, you can't go wrong with this place.When you get there ask for Val, and tell her that Rabbitt sent you. Then watch her light up. It may be hard to see as she is always bright and happy. The food is amazing in the atmosphere is just what you would expect. Enjoy.
